Frequently asked questions

On this page you can find the most frequently asked questions (and their answers). If your question is not answered, you can always contact us.

What is the minimum bid amount?
For backorder auctions, the minimum bid amount is 50 EUR. If you already made a bid in that auction, your new bid has to be at least as high as the old one plus a minimum increment.

If no bids have been placed when the auction closes, the system will accept a 25 EUR bid on that name that will end the auction immediately. (also refered to as last-minutes).

For private or public auctions, the minimum bid amount is defined per domain.
What happens if 2 users place the same bid?
When 2 users place the same bid, the user that made his bid first will be the high bidder. The second bidder will see the regular message that he is not the high bidder.
Can I withdraw my bid?
No. For various reasons, a bid can not be withdrawn/cancelled. All bids are final.
I've won the auction, now what?
When the auction has closed, the backorder is scheduled in our system. Once the backorder has completed (this can take up to 6 days), you will get a e-mail with the result.
When does an auction end?
Regular auctions end approximately 5-6 days prior to the name being released. All regular auctions end at 14h00-16u00 (2-4 pm) CEST, depending on their exact releasdate. The exact ending date of an auction can be found in the "my backorders" overview.

If a bid is placed in the final 15 minutes of the auction and it outbids the highest bid up until then, the auction is extended to run at least another 15 minutes. This is to discourage auction sniping and give everyone a fair chance to place a new bid.
Can you raise the single bid / total bid limit?
As a security measure, each user has a bidding limit. If you want to place larger bids, please contact our administration to get the limit raised. Note that we will review your request at our own discretion and might ask for a safety deposit.
What is the difference between a backorder auction and a private/public auction?
A backorder auction is an auction held to determine the person for who we will try to register a domain currently in quarantine.

A private/public auction is an auction for a domainname that is currently already registered, but the owner has agreed to auction the domainname through our service.
What payment options do you accept?
We currently only accept wire transfers. Any fees for international wire transfers must be paid by you. Our IBAN and BIC/SWIFT code can be found your invoice.
How much does it cost?
The first year of registration is already included in your bid. After that, you will be charged 25 EUR per year.
When will I be invoiced?
Invoices are typically sent out on the 1st of each month, for all succesful backorders of the previous month.
How can I manage my domain after it is registered?
The "my domains" overview allows you to change the nameservers of your domain. For all other changes you need to contact us.
What info will be used to register the domains?
Domains are registered directly in name of the highest bidder. You can see your licensee and nameserver information on the account page.
